David Roy​

David is a specialist in financial services technology.  With over 25 years of experience in Asia, Europe and the U.S., David has worked in the front, middle and back office areas across private banking, asset management, retail banking and system vendors.  He has helped companies to define appropriate technology strategies to meet their business needs, determine the right solutions, build or select the best applications and then implement the systems and business processes into production.

David looks at technology as a tool for the Business and strongly believes in letting business usage drive the appropriate technical solution.  He knows that to do this requires an in-depth understanding of the business as well as what technical options are available.  David has spent his career following this philosophy and ensures that both the Business and Technology understand each other’s viewpoints and work together towards common goals.

Combining his hands-on experience across the product lifecycle with his extensive background in investment management, order management and trading, investment compliance and risk and data management, David has successfully led global multi-year projects and programs that have transformed the way the Business works, collaborates and interacts with their internal partners and external clients and in the way Technology designs, develops and implements their systems.

David led a US$ 20 million, 3-year global program to transform and digitize the way investment ideas, market research, market data and client information were communicated and linked together in the JP Morgan Private Bank Front Office across Asia, Europe and the U.S., giving 1,300 advisors access to relevant and timely information to provide compliant investment options to their clients.  To enable this program, he led a team that transformed the way data was provided to applications by implementing the first enterprise data caching solution in the International Private Bank, combining previously disparate position, transaction and instrument databases into a single source.

His last position was at the Fintech vendor AG Delta, where he held the role of MD of Product Strategy and Management.  There he designed and developed a multi-tenant cloud-based digital wealth management solution that linked the creators of investment offerings, ideas and information, with the internal and external consumers of that information to determine the most appropriate investment strategies, then facilitate compliant trading using both mobile and browser interfaces.

David has a Bachelor of Commerce degree with distinction from the University of Calgary in Canada with a major in Finance.
